Post Production Internship
You’re our ideal video intern if:
You are a passionate creator with a fundamental knowledge of video editing and storytelling.
The thought of learning from a team of creative pros and being hands-on, scrappy and artistic sounds amazing to you.
You enjoy solving problems with video, photography, storytelling, cinematography.
Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to:
Learning company procedures in Premiere Pro for logging and editing footage
Footage organization, archival prep and drive duplication, backups, etc.
Editing company footage to create content for social media and the website
Researching: from techniques to people, to topics for inclusion in films, background info, locations etc.
Contributing creatively, presenting your ideas to the other producers
The Post Production Intern will have opportunities to:
assist on shoots: hauling gear, setting up lights, assisting DPs and working with cameras and mics, logging shots, pulling focus, etc.
set up tabletop lifestyle scenes for photography or video, shopping for props, wrangling stop-motion animation and being artful and crafty with design on tabletop.
scouting the city for shoot locations, or capturing man on the street reactions
working to store and pull video gear to ensure smooth production and maintaining it
studio cleanup, props purchasing and returns
A basic understanding of the fundamentals of video production is key to this role. A general background in film school or other on-set experience will suffice, or production company experience
Fluency with the Adobe Suite is important, we will need you to juggle many projects and maintain file naming conventions. Hopefully this is something you’ve experienced in school or a prior role. Editing and organizing video in Premiere Pro will be a day to day responsibility.
Working knowledge of word processors and ability to navigate a spreadsheet with ease
Display a hands-on, “yes and...” positive attitude
Be deadline-driven as well as proactive to keep your dance card full and not shy about reaching out for more work when things are slow.
Creativity in problem-solving with attention to detail
An always-learning attitude. Your ability to work on a team and successfully incorporating ongoing feedback from multiple sources will help you ramp up quickly. The ability to take direction well and balance that with personal style and initiative is a lifelong skill that will apply here or anywhere you work.
Managing multiple projects isn’t a problem for you. The ability to see a project from inception to completion and succeed with autonomy is critical.
Good communication and collaboration skills but willingness to learn how communication works in the agency environment.
In-depth knowledge of all social media platforms and the ability to create social content
Must be willing to travel to studio to work. Studio is accessible via Blue Line.
No computer is required to participate. We will have a computer for you to use if you don’t have one.
Lastly a fun, friendly, and sociable attitude is a must!
